Taking the Leap: Embracing Solo Travel Challenges

This page is for you, the reader, whether you are a new traveller or someone with more experience, to share words of encouragement. We all need a little boost sometimes, especially when we start a journey away from home or try something new.

Travelling alone is special for everyone in their way, but we all share similar feelings in different places and times. While travelling is exciting, it can also present challenges, and that’s just part of life. Many of these challenges stem from getting started, feeling homesick during the trip, and adjusting back to life at home after an amazing adventure.

I won’t name him, but one of my friends almost cancelled his trip to Asia because he felt nervous. The comfort of staying home nearly pulled him back, but with some encouragement and conversation, we helped him go through with it. That experience inspired me to create this page in the first place.

It’s okay to be nervous, apprehensive, and self-doubting. Entering into it without knowing what you’re doing is part of the journey.

That was his first trip, and now he has travelled alone more than three times. If he can do it, so can you.

The best time to take the leap is when you don’t feel like taking the leap.
